IGNITING INNOVATION & ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN SOUTHERN ARIZONA

Why We’re Here

The Arizona Defense Futures Institute was established in 2023 for the purpose of advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic prosperity in support of National Security and Defense in Cochise County of Southern Arizona.

Geography & Airspace Prime for Technological Development.

The Institute lives in Cochise County of Southern Arizona - a rural, yet incredibly diverse region of the state that boasts 300+ days of optimal weather, flat & rugged terrain, uncontested airspace, and a pure electromagnetic spectrum.

Just 1.2 hours southeast of the Tucson International Airport, our region’s mix of restricted and general aviation airspace sits 30 miles south of the nearest commercial flight path, allowing for uncontested flight testing and operations of manned and autonomous aircraft.
